About Eugene
Having taught students for 25 years, I get excited when the light goes on for a student.
I was initially hired to serve the aforementioned church-school as their principal but saw the need for higher grades (they had been running only to the fifth grade) and made the transition into the classroom when problems arose in finding someone with the ability to handle the academics and process necessary for the students.
I taught for 15 years in a small church-based private school with junior high and high school students, assisting approximately 50 students attain a high school diploma despite academic difficulties they may have had. In addition, I also homeschooled my own three children from first grade through the 11th grade of high school.

The plan is to become acquainted with the student and determine where the weaknesses may lie with their current math skills. Ideally we would work through a homework assignment and begin identifying what concepts are not currently mastered by the student and break them down into an understandable process.
I have worked with a wide variety of students, from those with high achievement capabilities to those who have found academics troubling, particularly in math skills.
