About Andie
As I am currently finishing up my junior year at the University of Delaware studying Secondary Math Education, I have been rigorously trained in many maths, while simultaneously learning how to be an effective and supportive educator.
I love the duality of teaching - I love the math and I love the personal relationships! In my opinion, you cannot have one without the other in this profession.
I have finished three years at the University of Delaware majoring in Secondary Math Education. Through this program, I have completed many math courses, anything from Calculus to Real Analysis and lots in between, while also taking classes on how to be an effective teacher.

When working with a new student, I love to first get to know them as the individual - what class are they currently in, how is it going, where do they feel they are doing well, where do they feel they could improve, what are their emotions towards the material? Once I know my student a little better I can help design a fitting work plan that will challenge them and help them move past current obstacles and grow in their learning while trying to avoid feelings of defeat! I am more interested in meeting the student where they are at and going from there! I try to always aim to have my learner be the center of the meetings.
