About Marissa
Founded by a Doctor of Optometry who believes every student can learn math when it’s explained in a way that makes sense. Optometry is loaded with both math and science. I’m excited to use that knowledge to help others. I’ve tutored students for 8 years, all the way through Algebra 1.
My approach is patient, supportive, and straightforward. I don’t believe students should feel embarrassed when they don’t understand something. We can slow down, look at the problem from a different angle, and work through it together.
I also encourage students to understand why they’re doing something rather than simply memorizing steps. Once the underlying idea makes sense, the math usually becomes much less intimidating.
Whether your student needs occasional homework help, preparation for an upcoming test, or consistent weekly support, I can tailor our sessions to their needs.
