About Abi
I have loved teaching and helping people since I was 12 years old, starting with teaching karate and tutoring younger kids on their homework. Now I have over 30 college credit hours as a senior in sighschool, I'm sixth in a class of 600 and currently tutor mulitple people regularly. I have experience with people ages 5 to 16 and love all school subjects.
I started teaching through my karate studio, where I was required to teach and help people around the studio. Then, when I started high school I would stay after school with my mom and help her tutor her algebra 1 and 2 classes, and from there I started teaching friends that needed help and their friends after that.
I've been teaching for five years now, I have a 4.28 GPA, and tutor many people at my high school and children at my karate studio (ages 5-12). I've attended SASi which is a teaching and leadership seminar that teaches teenagers about being effective teachers and leadership members.

I like to spend at least 10 minutes in the first session together talking about who they are, what they like to do, and what they have a hard time with. Then, I like to incoporate their interests into whatever work we're doing.
I have worked with many elementary school aged children, many of which had ADHD and some of which were on the autism spectrum. I have also worked with teenagers from all walks of life.
I think it's very important that a student is comfortable with their teacher so that they can ask questions as they need to without fear of being judged or ridiculed. I also believe that it's important to know that your teacher knows what they're doing so you can fully trust what they are telling you to do
