About Zachary
I have always been good at math since a very young age. Over the years I hit a down fall and started to fail, but someone helped me get on my feet and baffle my future teachers. In my last year of high school I took some time to help teach one of my former teacher's Precalc classes. This was very fun for me because I was able to help people understand math and gain experience with teaching. I found one student in that class who was struggling more than the rest, so I gave this student my phone number and worked with him 24/7 on top of my BC Calc AP homework. Tiresome nights some times but I still remember that kids face when he told me he passed the final exam with an A.
I enjoy helping out others and doing my favorite subject at the same time, math. I feel it is important for every student to have a chance to love math instead of getting caught in an endless cycle of confusion.
I had this wonderful teacher in my eleventh year of high school named Mrs. Y. She was my precalc teacher and was one of the very few teachers who admired my math abilities. She helped me further my carrer in math by making the school allow me to take the highest level course they offer. In my last year of high school I had a free class block I needed to fill so I asked if I could help her teach precalc. She gladly said yes and from then I helped her teach her class for the next year until I graduated. She gave me advice and made sure I was doing well the entire time and taught me a lot about teaching.
I have an advanced high school diploma. During school I have completed Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Precalculus, BC Calculus AP. My Precalc teacher saw my work and pushed the school to let me skip AB Calculus AP and I forever thank her for this generocity. I have also taught a Precalculus class before for a whole year along side an Atlee high school teacher who made sure I was doing everything good. I started teaching in September 2018 and stopped in June 2019.

First I take a day to get to know the student, what kind of material they need help with, and understand how to best teach the student (some methods work better than others). From then on I go day by day making sure the student is learning the material and can pass the test/quiz. I feel that the most important thing with teaching another student one on one is to make sure you aren't doing the work for them and I am very careful not to do so by making and bringing my own problem sets to help explain and demonstrate how things work.
I have worked with math loving students, mentally challenged students, bored out of their mind students, students who have lost confidence, confused students, students with no will to learn, older and younger students, teens, adults, children, and even students who are on the verge of giving up.
Look for someone who will work with you, not for you. Make sure that they are someone who will shape their lessons around you and not some universal standard. Someone who will be your friend, not just a teacher. Someone you can be yourself with, learn to trust, and not be afraid to ask them questions. Your tutor should be someone willing to take this journey with you instead of sending you out there hoping you do well.
The most recent event I am fond of is when my crush from middle school asked me out and proclaimed her love to me when I was too shy to say something. In that one moment I havn't been happier. Today we are loving couple who both love math, videogames, and animals.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
When do I tend to learn the best. Do I learn better when the teacher gives me a demonstration, do I learn better through trial and error, do I learn better when someone breaks it down for me. These are the questions you should ask your self and the questions I ask my students.

Not at the moment. I am fully open to negotiating prices that work for us both. But it is good to note that travel distance will affect the prices I'm willing to accept so if you live a good distance away from me I suggest asking me to work over the computer or cell phone to minimize your own costs.
