About Brandon
I have been blessed with amazing instructors throughout my educational career and I would like to offer that same opportunity to everyone else. I believe what makes a good tutor is someone who is relatable, compassionate, and understanding. I think I fit each of those qualities and more due to my personal experience suffering and overcoming imposter syndrome.
I enjoy being a tutor because I feel like I am able to give students a second chance that we all deserve. If a student had an unpleasant experience with a subject in the past, they could very well have a distasteful look at the said subject. As an enthusiastic and heartfelt tutor, I believe I can offer those students the bliss and wonderful educational experience they are deserving of.
My first experience tutoring was in the 1st-grade afterschool program where a fellow first-grader came up to me asking me a math question. After we worked on the problem together I could see the look in their eyes and they truly understood the lesson. After that moment, I knew I wanted to be in the education system.
I have been a private math tutor since 2014 when I started in high school tutoring my peers and other students. In 2018 I began working at my high school as an AVID College Tutor. In 2021 I joined my colleges Math tutoring center where I held one-on-one tutoring sessions. In 2022 I took on an in-classroom tutoring experience which I would assist the professor with lectures, assist students while they were in groups, and held office hours.

I always ask what type of setting a student/parent feels comfortable with. Whether that be online, in-person at home, or in-person in a public space, I want to make sure the student is in the optimal learning environment.
I worked with a range of students from jr. high to college.
Find someone who you feel fits your personal and educational needs. You want to have good communication between the two of you as education is built on a foundation of understanding others.
I recently helped this student overcome imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is the feeling that you are not worthy of any of the accomplishments you have made in life regardless of how deserving of them you actually are. It is a true mental battle, but it is a battle I am proud to say I have fought and won and one that I will continue helping others fight.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some strong questions I always ask myself whenever I am stuck are, "What do I know and what do I need to know?", "How can I relate this to previous/similar problems?", and "What is going on conceptually?"

Given my experience and expertise, I charge a base rate of $30 per hour + a driving/gas fee. (1-15 miles = +$5/hr, 15+ miles = +$10/hr)
