About Sophia
I love spending time with kids and believe I am very patient and explain things well. I have worked with kids all of my life and worked as a tutor at Kumon last year as well.
I always wanted to be a teacher when I was younger and have always loved school. I am not a teacher yet, but I love helping others and hope I get more opportunities to do so so that other kids can learn to love school too.
I am 17 and currently a Junior high school student at Menlo School in Atherton and I have worked with children all of my life, volunteering at summer camps for years, so I know how a kid thinks and learns. I also worked at Kumon in Burlingame last year for about 4 months and worked with kids from ages 3-13 on math and english.

I try and get to know the kid first for maybe 2-5 minutes because they have to be able to trust me and what I say, and then while we work on their work I try and apply it to things of interest to them so it is more memorable and easy to understand.
