About Robert
I have worked as an educator at the university, high school, middle school, and elementary levels inside and outside of the classroom. Whatever your challenges are, I have experience adapting to the needs of my students. I served in the peace corps as an education volunteer teaching high school physics in Portuguese and as a ranger with the national park service teaching 5th grade environmental studies to bilingual classes. I love meeting students where they are and finding ways that we can work together to accomplish their goals. I focus on experiential and student centered learning techniques, but also have experience with preparing for standardized testing methods. My core competencies are focused in the sciences, with geology being the subject of my undergraduate and graduate studies. I am also skilled with languages and language arts and have a solid background in history and social studies. I am confident that whatever you are looking for in a tutor, I can help you achieve success, however you measure it.
