About Dianne
Science is exploration into our view of the universe. I help scholars understand the beauty of the natural balance in biological, chemical systems. My goal is to help scholars gain confidence in the subject they are studying then surpass the required learning to the wonder that can take them in their path to life-long learning.
I am a retired high school Chemistry, Biology, Cosmology (senior capstone class), Physical Science teacher as well as the department head of Heritage Academy for 16 years. I grew the science department into one of the leading programs in the state according to AIMS Science. More importantly, I planted the love of science in many young hearts who are now contributing throughout the science world as engineers, a variety of science research specialties, astrophysics, doctors, nurses and science teachers. I love to teach students how to learn and be confident using STEM principles.
I have a degree from Ottawa University in Education and Masters in Science Teaching from Northern Arizona University work that was a student centered model.
I have taken master courses in Chemistry Modeling from ASU, also a student centered modeling course.
Both masters programs aimed to create a model within the scholars mind and build understanding of scientific principles rather than rote memorization of science litany. It is only through understanding can we effectively create tomorows research leaders and advance our nations scientific technology to answer the challenges that face our nation and world.
