About Jake
Hello! I'm a dedicated tutor in both mathematics and computer programming with a passion for empowering others through education. I'm currently a sophomore honors student at Miami University, majoring in Computer Science, where I have honed my technical skills to complement my natural knack for numbers.
Throughout high school, I was a tri-sport athlete, actively participating in team sports, which taught me the invaluable lessons of determination, teamwork, and tenacity. These experiences have given me a unique ability to connect with students from all walks of life, making learning more relatable and enjoyable.
In my spare time, I'm an avid MMA trainee, a testament to my belief in continuous self-improvement and discipline. This determination mirrors my approach to tutoring - I'm committed to helping my students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.

Getting to know them a bit to start, to see what they are struggling with, and where they would like to improve. Once I have an idea of where to focus, I teach them the WHY and the logic behind problem solving instead of only the HOW. This fosters a deeper understanding of the topic, ultimately leading to greater success.

The difference between JAO Math Tutoring is i was taught not just to solve hard problems, but the reasoning behind the problem and the WHY in every problem solving method. What i really liked about it was that JAO was very good at adapting to me and putting himself in my shoes. He did a great job seeing where i was struggling and figuring out how i learn because everyone learns differently. i am very happy with this and i really have grown a lot as a student because of JAO Math Tutoring. Not because i learned how to solve problems that i struggled with, but now i know the why and reasoning behind the fundamentals!!!
