About Daniel
I have been teaching 3rd through 8th grade math for the past 14 years in the Chicago Public Schools. I have a bachelor’s degree in education as well as a master’s degree in Adminstration. I am also in the midst of completing another master’s degree in Educational Technology. I have had proven success raising student’s test scores, including helping my principal attain special recognition for having over 90% of all students meet or exceed their goals on the NWEA assessment. I have used a plethora of resources to help my students understand math and I encourage my students to challenge themselves. Today’s way of doing math has evolved and can sometimes be foreign to many parents that were taught differently. If you allow me the opportunity to tutor your child, I can promise that you won’t be disappointed.
I really enjoy being around my students and seeing that look on their faces when something clicks. Math is a very challenging subject and I have a way of figuring out what my students are doing wrong and leading them in the right direction.
I graduated from St. Xavier University in 2005 and I immediately began teaching middle school math.
I have a bachelor’s degree in education and Inhave been teaching math for the Chicago Public Schools for the past 14 years.

The first thing I do when meeting a new student is explain to them that I am there to help fine tune their math skills. I want them to feel comfortable working with me because then they won’t be afraid to make mistakes and allow me to see what they are struggling with. After the introduction is completed, I would then start by giving the student a pre-assessment to see what he or she needs help improving. This test will then be given a couple weeks later so both the student and their parent can see what progress has been made and if the tutoring is working.
I have worked with students between grades 3 through 8 in the classroom and I did summer tutoring for students that were 6 years old.
i would tell them to look for someone that has had a proven track record of being successful at teaching math to their students. In addition, I would look for someone that is compassionate and encourages their students to take chances. Most importantly, I would try to find someone tells their students that it is alright to get something wrong because nothing improves a child’s math ability's then learning from their own mistakes.
I recently received multiple awards for the growth that my students made on their Spring NWEA assements. One class made almost 3 years growth in 1 year. Another event that I am fond of is the countless emails I still receive from past students. I love to see how they continue to succeed years after I taught them.
