While earning my B.S. and M.S. in mathematics, I learned just how challenging and rewarding math can be. I love tutoring, and aim to make math more accessible and rewarding for students of all levels. I started tutoring part time in University, and have enjoyed it ever since. I am passionate about math and helping others. It's a joy to see when people start to understand a challenging problem and improve their math skills.
I have a B.S. and M.S. in mathematics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In addition I have over 3 years of tutoring and teaching experience.

I start by getting to know the students and helping them feel comfortable. I'll try to guage their feelings about their class and their comfort level with math in general. I might ask them about their study habits. If they are seeking general help, I'll ask them what they are learning in class and get a sense of where they are. I will ask them if they can point to particular problems and concepts they are struggling with, and if they can't I will help them pinpoint their struggle areas and go from there.
I have mostly worked with college students and adults. I've worked with students learning the very basics of math, all the way through students taking advanced college level math. I am looking to expand my tutoring to High School and middle school levels! I want to help younger students succeed and build their math skills because I believe having a good experience with math in middle school and high school will set students up for success down the line!

I was failing a math class in college, I asked David to tutor me half way through the class, and he was Great. Kind, patient, and creative with his teaching. I always felt comfortable. I've struggled with math classes before, and he helped me approach the subject in ways that helped me grasp a better understanding. He helped me salvage my grade and do better than passing, which was way more than I expected. I only regret not having him tutor me sooner!
