About Antonino
I meet students where they actually are: I have students describe their relationship with math, and what they see their strengths and needs are. Then we work together to set a goal, and create a plan to achieve that goal. We monitor progress together, and celebrate success along the way.
I have always loved helping math students to bring out their own best that has always been there, but just needed a nudge to get to the surface. Tutoring has never felt like work to me!
I earned my M.Ed. in 7-12 Integrated Mathematics at The Ohio State University. I have 4 years of classroom experience, and 17 years of tutoring experience before that. I am well versed in Ohio's math standards as well as various methods of teaching them.

In a free initial session, I get to know the student where they actually are on their mathematical journey, and together we identify current strengths and current needs. From there, we set a measurable goal for the student to work toward, and celebrate successes along the way, adding or adjusting goals as the student grows or the need changes.
Ask them about how they view progress monitoring. If you have no way to measure their work, how do you know if it's successful?

Yes. I charge $40 per hour, which includes full planning and progress monitoring services. My first session is free; I typically use the first session to identify strengths and needs, and sketch out what a specific and measurable goal could be to meet those individual needs.
