About Amanda
-Nationally Board Certified Teacher in middle level mathematics
-14 years experience teaching elementary and middle school of which 6 were as a math intervention specialist.
I am a Nationally Board Certified teacher in the area of Middle Level Mathematics ages 11-14. I have worked as a Math Intervention Specialist for 6 years in Battle Ground in grades 5 through 8, and I am now a 7th grade math/science teacher. Before that, I taught in self contained classrooms, grades 4-6, for 8 years.

I evaluate each student to see what Common Core Math standards they are grasping versus which they are not at each grade level. I then address these missing pieces and make sure that each student has a firm foundation to build on.
I have worked with students at all levels. I feel intervention is working with students at whatever level they are, whether that is lower than their peers or higher.
Look for a teacher who believes that all students can achieve with the right support and in the power of the "yet".
