About Amalia
Hello! I am a Berkeley High Graduate and a current McGill University chemistry student. I have been passionate about math and science my whole life and hope to share that passion through education. With a perfect 36 on the ACT, I have proven my knowledge of high school level math, science and English. I successfully completed AP Chemistry and AP Physics C (mechanics and electricity/magnetism) with perfect AP scores, as well as IB Math HL, equivalent to AP Calculus BC. I have much experience having tutored high schoolers in math subjects ranging from algebra to calculus. Additionally, I have worked as a volunteer teacher at Oakland Unified School District.
Throughout my education I have always chosen to take the most challenging math classes possible, helping my friends along the way. Unlike many others, I enjoyed taking the ACT/SAT because of the puzzle-like math problems that are often a source of so much confusion.
I am excited to tutor you in whatever you need help with. I am easy to reach and always respond punctually. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or to set up a lesson!
I love teaching and tutoring because I believe in every student, however often our education system does not. My work aims to change low self-esteem in the STEM fields because, more often than not, one-on-one attention that teachers are unable to provide is all that students need to excel.
