About Jay
I've been helping students with various math subjects since 2014. In 2017, I served as a Peer Tutor for Upward Bound- a program that equips students from underresourced communities with tools and resources to prepare them for college. I still occassionally serve as a tutor for the program on an ad-hoc basis.
Seeing students succeed academically is a great joy of mine. My philosophy is that any student is capable of learning through hard work, dedication, and focus. Patience is something I embody in my work, and I believe its necessary for the student's success.

Within my four years of being a Upward Bound in high school I can say that Mr. Johnson was the best math tutor that I ever had in my life. Even before I got a chance to get math tutoring services from him I was hearing great things about him from my peers such as he a good communicator, he very patient, inquisitive, and creative when it come to fun, cool ways to remember key concepts and steps for solving problems. Mr.Johnson did the in possible he taught me geometry, made learning math fun, educational at the same time. Only good things to say about this amazing, talented, smart great tutor.
He's very patient and ia very good at simplifying hard problems. He breaks it down step by step and can help his students identify where they went wrong.
