About Meryl
I have been in the tutoring business for five years for private companies, universities, and as a freelancer. I received my dual bachelor's in mathematics and computer engineering from Texas Tech University, and graduated cum laude. I am currently working towards a PhD in pure mathematics. In addition, my background in computer engineering means that I can also offer help with computer science and programming. I have been a research and development intern at Sandia National Laboratories in both undergrad and grad school, and have experience in most major programming languages.
I'm a huge math nerd. I own a glass Klein bottle and will tell everyone I get the chance to how a coffee cup is topologically equivalent to a donut, or why there isn't a formula for the roots of a quintic polynomial. The only thing I enjoy more than expanding my understanding of the subject is sharing these wonders with the rest of the world.
I began tutoring high school studenets with a private company that specialized in online tutoring. I have also been a peer tutor for the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Texas Tech University, as well as a teaching assistant at the University of New Mexico.
Dual B.S. Mathematics and Computer Engineering, Cum Laude, Texas Tech University.
Currently working on PhD in Pure Mathematics, University of New Mexico.

The first session with one of my students is typically a quick overview to figure out their learning style and what they hope to achieve from our sessions. After that I like to get into the material as quickly as possible, and not add too much workload on top of what students already receive in class.
