About James
Every day since my childhood I have been fascinated in history. This fascination has propelled me to become a secondary educator in world history, social studies, and social sciences. I am a younger individual who just graduated from college from Boise State University. My goal as a teacher is to give my students as many victories as possible. My teaching will always focus on student success. My services are flexible, reliable, and energetic.
At a young age, I was not the most successful student. I required a copious amount of additional education and tutoring to get me through the years. I understand the difficulty of asking for additional help because as humans we never want to face our struggles. I am here to respect and give back to the community that bolstered me throughout the years. I hope to share my knowledge and success as a student/teacher with you.
Teaching the humanities in my opinion is the most important aspect of education that a student can learn. It was once said that "those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it". I fully embrace this quote and I hope to share the importance of it to my students.
Helping students achieve their goals is one of the most rewarding things that an individual can do. the relationships and communication one gains from education will last a lifetime. The high-quality work, powerful relationships, and growth are what I enjoy most.
I began teaching at a young age whether it was for sports or for educational games (Chess). I never knew that I would become a teacher until senior year of high school. I spent the next four years attending college to become certified to teach history, social studies, and social science.

There are three steps that I follow when working with a new student...
1. Introduce and form a strong professional relationship as well as set expectations. I ask the student what they wish to accomplish.
2. Give the student a good plan of what the future holds. I like to give the student good reasons why they should learn the content and why it will help them int the real world.
3. Have fun and show success through actions!
I have worked with students from middle school all the way up to college. As for demographics, I have taught gifted and talented students as well as students in ELL (English language learner) and SPED programs. With my teaching, I have seen exceptional growth with all.
Always look for someone who will suit your needs and who you are confident will help you achieve your goals. Never stop building your network of professional individuals. In today's world, it is more who you know rather than what you know. In addition, look for someone who you are comfortable with, and someone who you can connect with on a personal/ professional level.
Historically I am fascinated with World War 2, The American Civil War, and Japanese History.
I am fond of recent scientific findings regarding the universe as well as archeology work regarding ancient civilizations.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Will this help me achieve what I want?
How can I better this situation?
What have past individuals done in these situations?
Who are some people who can give me insight on this matter?
