About Mariah
I welcome adults and children who want to learn to play the harp or want to increase their skills. As a teacher, I focus on helping students be able to play the music that is interesting or fun for them. I will start with a firm background on the basics of technique and reading music, and then we can take it away with what thrills you! I am a harpist and a scientist. At Brigham Young University, I minored in music, emphasizing in harp, while earning a geology degree. I also performed in the BYU Harp Ensemble. The formal training in harp at BYU gave me good footing in the basics of harp, complimenting my analytical bent on music. I love combining these foundations and analytical sense with my shear love of harp and music. I hope we can start this musical journey together!
I have a minor in music from Brigham Young University, where I studied harp for two years.

Mariah is an amazing teacher! Every lesson is packed with ways to improve, creative and challenging exercises, and encouragement. You will learn techniques for practicing on your own that are both sustainable and effective. Mariah takes into account where you are and where you want to go with your harp practice. I started working with her as an absolute beginner and I've learned so much from her in only a few months!
Mariah is an amazing teacher! She is endlessly encouraging and accommodating to what I need/am interested in. She has spared no effort helping me in every way she can.
