About Dave
A guitar player for over 40 years, my goal is to take the student from beginner status to developing the basic skills on the guitar, find the fun and relaxation in learning the instrument and culminating with a short performance in front of an audience to get the student accustomed to playing in front of people.
I have played guitar since I was about 14 years old.

About the lesson

First, I like meet with the student (at no charge) to find out what goals the student has for their guitar playing and what kind of music that they want to learn how to play. I also want them to bring their guitar so I can make sure that they have an instrument which is of good enough quality to make their learning experience a good one.
Then, when the actual lessons begin, I try to customize them around those two things, teaching the basic chords and scales and incorporating them into songs.

Details
The first meeting with a student is free and doesn't count as a "lesson" because it is just an initial consultation to find out where the student is in terms of their "beginner" status, to find out their goals and the kind of music they want to learn to play and to make sure that their guitar is of adequate quality to learn on.
Lesspns are $20 per hour. I require that the student commit to a minimum of 10 lessons with payment due in advance of the first lesson.
