About Jackson
I approach teaching every student differently, catering to what you want to learn, at a pace and level that works for you! What matters most is that everything we learn ties back into the whole reason we learn guitar in the first place: the music.
I'm a musician with 11 years of experience playing guitar, performing, writing, touring, and recording. I started out taking lessons, then learning and performing with School of Rock in Eden Prairie, and eventually studying instrumental music at Main Street School of Performing Arts in Hopkins. I have extensive experience playing in a variety of ensembles, as well as my own bands. All of these experiences have enriched me as a musician, and serve to inform my teaching.

After many years working in the food service industry, I decided to pursue work in my main field of expertise, and teaching guitar had long been a desire of mine. I wanted to take what I have learned over the last decade plus of playing, performing, and learning, and share that with other budding guitarists.

The first step is gauging your skill level, musical interests and goals. I want not only an understanding of your playing ability, but an understanding of what you want to learn, the songs you want to play, and the techniques we'll be focusing on.
I've worked with students as young as 5 years old up to older adults, ranging from absolute beginners to more intermediate and advanced players looking to up their game. I have also taught students through minor language barriers in which English is not their first language. I've taught in styles ranging from rock, folk, metal, blues, jazz, and pop.
I recently returned from a 3-week North American tour with one of my bands, Ashbringer. It took us all the way down south to Texas, up the coast through California and the Pacific Northwest, and into Canada.
