James teaches so many different instruments, has a great demeanor with kids, and comes up with new, fun ideas like a studio band with live performances and video recordings. My son had never had that experience before and had a great time with it!

Both my kids enjoyed taking lessons and performing in the studio band at JNK. James is a very talented artist and has a lot of patience. The end of the year performances were by far my favorite. James when out of his way to make sure each kid had a shining moment and really put on a fun show for both the kids and parents. I highly recommend JNK!!!

James is great at inspiring my daughter with a love of music and drumming. He's very knowledgeable, fun and also patient when teaching kids and my daughter loves his lessons. He has a very good structure for his class and also a great incentive system to keep the student practicing and interested in music.
Katie is also very helpful in arranging schedules and always trying her best to accommodate our schedule for any changes.
They also have a very easy-to-use online system for calendar and online payment, which is not always available for other music teachers.
Jame's studio band class is also very fun and the being part of a final product of a well-made music video of a student band is an amazing experience for my daughter. Sad to know James is leaving the area and I'm sure he'll do a great job in the new town he's moving to.

James has been an incredibly patient and encouraging music teacher for my 13 year old daughter - who would LOVE to play the piano, but has been reluctant to devote time to the practice that is required to make progress. James has had lots of different ideas and has continued to motivate Zoë throughout her 12 months of lessons with him. Katie has been a rockstar when we've needed to reschedule lessons, always taken care of swiftly and efficiently. We are sad that they are leaving the Bay Area and wish them well in their new adventures.

Our children received excellent musical instruction from James. He created a wonderful learning environment for our three children -all different ages. He understands how to motivate and support children, while providing the very best musical instruction. In addition, he is a master at teaching multiple instruments, which meant my children could try out other instruments in his studio. This is an essential plus, especially for families with young children who are still feeling out their musical preferences. If you want musically happy kids, you will love James as we do!

James is patient with my child who may or may not always practice. He also keeps my child interested and excited to learn and keep learning guitar.
