About Tim
As a teen I studied guitar with private guitar instructors and attended classical guitar courses at Southern Illinois University for just a short time and then set out teaching on my own shortly after that ... I have been teaching guitar privately and in group sessions two people from all walks of life including Young children starting at the age of four right on up to already established musicians and retired adults ..I have worked with many different diverse students , those that already have experience from those who have never held the instrument along with so many great people and some with learning disabilities and or other challenges that needed to be overcome to accomplish their goals .... i've been doing this since 1989 where I am the sole guitar instructor at Guitar's Etc.. in Havelock North Carolina where I have been doing guitar/bass and piano lessons along with working on the sales floor in sales and minor repairs and I've been there now for 32 years .. I Taught guitar for Craven community College starting out with their continuing Ed program in Havelock , North Carolina from the mid to late 90s and then continued to work on the main campus for several years in Newbern , North Carolina but private lessons have kept me extremely busy in these past and most recent years .. I have also done a series of online lessons for beginners to intermediate players call Tim Rowe's six string techniques which are available on the Patreon website ... Teaching music has been a passion of mine for most of my life and I obviously have many years in the field ..! I don't just teach a person to play guitar .. I go from every angle possible two breeds success with an individual !! starting with very fundamental basic foundation up through more advanced studies for performing artists to the novice and recording artist etc. by showing a student basic music theory to start with along with approach to holding the guitar and fantastic practice habits and great work ethic . I've always worked with close personal friends while even studying myself to convey what I had learned to people who wanted me to do that for them in quickly realized that people had a great desire just like myself to learn to play guitar . At first I would barter guitar lessons with close friends for other chances to learn other hobbies and skill sets that other people had and realized that I had the ability to teach guitar and convey it to other people in a pretty effective manner .. I then began to help and show peers at the University in Southern Illinois how to execute and or sight read the pieces that we were given to play for basic Classical Guitar courses at the University and realized I could help and prepare others to do so in a thorough and effective manner when asked ...
Studied private guitar lessons with several different instructors before attending Classical Guitar courses at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale Illinois and coordinating and getting students prepared to study guitar with Dr. Elliot Frank and his understudies at East Carolina University by following and preparing prospective students according to East Carolina's curriculums and prepared syllabus also then working with established musicians in rehearsals the studio and various different night clubs , pubs beer gardens concert venues , festivals and restaurants etc. for the last 28 to 30 years or so ..

To introduce New Student on day one with very basic foundation for the guitar including parts of the guitar , how to approach holding the instrument etc. I don't want to give away too much information and secrets LOL but I am very thorough and instill a very strong foundation to begin with with my students to create a successful path to learning to play guitar ..
I have worked all kinds of people from all kinds of different walks of life .. Children through retired adults who are no longer in the workforce and have the time to study with somebody along with novice musicians through professional musicians who wanted to increase their knowledge and ability to be able to further better their Own live performance and or composition and writing skills etc.

Details
Basic starting prices are $80 per month which include meeting 30 minutes Per lesson session once a week four times a month ... I schedule a designated time with a student that is consistent each week so there is ample time between sessions for a student to study the previous weeks lesson to be able to move forward each and every week ...For my local students I prefer and only accept cash or personal check . However , I am getting into being able to take credit cards through the Square device and app on my phone ... other payments by individual lesson or crash courses or increased time frames can be negotiated with me at any time based on a persons desires and needs .. I will do one hour sessions and do give discounts for increase time frames , families , siblings etc.
