I feel like the best thing to do with any talent or ability is teach others who want to learn. A pay it forward kind of thing. Guitars lessons with me will ideally result in you not taking guitar lessons from me but the end. Let me explain.
When a person is unable to play anything, if they want to get to a certain level, I will work with them until they can see those tangible results. Everyone has a “big wall”, which is the point where you push yourself to your max limit, and you keep practicing more and that inability to play what you want turns into the moment when you realize you can play whatever you want with enough time and dedication. When I first learned guitar, Mum big wall was at 6 months. For 6 months it felt like I was getting no where, until finally, it clicked. Music is a delicate and tedious process to learn, but once you break past “your big wall”, it’s smooth sailing from there. I will guide you to your big wall and provide you with the skills to tear it down. The goal is self sufficiciency. Hopefully once we break down your wall, you won’t need me to teach you anymore and you will have the skills and the ear to teach yourself anything you want!

Bachelor’s degree-
Major: Foreign Languages (Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese)
Minors: TESOL and Linguistics
I am currently working with one student. I also teach chess to elementary school kids for a living, so I am very patient and understanding about how I teach. Everyone moves at a different pace.

First, I find out what the student wants to learn. Then we develop a road to the destination, and I will teach the tools and techniques necessary to achieve that goal.

have an idea of what kind of guitar style you want to learn so that your teacher and you are compatible. also be ready to feel like you aren’t progessing for months. This is normal to start learning at a very slow pace. However, you get what you put in! More practice = better playing. Unless you’re practicing bad habits...
ABQ's annual summer fests. I have performed for the Westside Summerfest 2016 with my band Treehouse Basement as an opener for Big Head Todd and the monsters. We also won UNM’s “Fight for Fiestas” battle of the bands competition in 2017, earning us a slot to perform at UNM’s annual spring festival, fiestas. In 2016 we had our own private show at the Historic KiMo theatre, the performance requested by the ABQ city of events directors, after they heard us play in downtown in a talent scout show.

Details
Depending on how far I have to drive, I currently charge $30/less. Each lesson is 60 minutes. Shorter lessons and different pricing can be discussed.
All prices are negotiable.
On the months where there are 5 weeks, the 5th lesson is free. This is a very good deal as guitar center just opened up lesson studios. They charge $50 for a 1 hour lesson ($198/m, 1 lesson/week) for BEGINNER lessons.
Should you want to take more than 1 lesson/week (I recommend this) cheaper lesson prices can be negotiated.
I also will travel 10 miles for free. Every 10 miles after that is $5. (11 miles =$5, 20 miles =$10.
