About Nathan
Teaching English as a second language has become one of my biggest joys! I started with a company called VIPKid and quickly disovered how much I loved helping others learn Enlgish. As a language learner myself, I understand how difficult it can be, especially when just starting out. I seek to make every class fun, engaging, and intentional in an effort to maximinze the learning expereince while at the same time taking away the stress that is often accompanied with this field. I currently hold a TESOL degree and have taught almost 2000 one-one-one classes over the last year.
I love when my students start to see their progress and become excited about the subject. I can tell you all about my love for langauges and English, but you won't feel it until you expereince it for yourself.
VIPKid
I have worked for VIPKid for over one year and hold a TESOL degree.

I first engage in small conversation to get a feel for their English level, and to genuinely get to know them. From there I will ask what previous education they've had and if they are able to answer then I will take that into consideration and teach at the appropriate level.
Chinese students ranging from 5-18 years old, and all ages of adults.
I would tell the student to make sure that the teacher actually cares about him or her as a person. Lots of teachers do this job simply to make money. While that doens't necessarily mean that they will be a bad teacher, it is much easy to learn from someone who has a genuine interest in them as a person as well as a heart for teaching.
