About Ann
Hello! I love reading, writing, and teaching. I've been a music and history teacher for four years, and I am very passionate about helping students learn. I aim to help them understand both what they're trying to accomplish and why it's important or applicable to their lives.
Writing and English: Writing in any copacity is the clearest form of communication. Teaching others how to write clearly and effectively is something I'm passionate about. If we all communicate effectively, it makes the world a better place. Writing is my guilty pleasure: I have multiple completed manuscripts and occasionally write a persuasional essay, and to help others find their emotional outlet through writing brings me great joy!
History: History is boring for many, but for me it's interesting and eye-opening. I am constantly looking for ways to make history interesting and applicable for students, and perhaps even fun! History doesn't have to be all about dates and events. It's about learning about humanity.
Music: Ah, music, my first love! Music is something that many students desire to learn of and about, and whether or not students play instruments, music is a language that is beneficial to teach and understand no matter what the application.
I'm the daughter of teachers and I have been a teacher for four years. At first I thought I would just do music and music lessons, but I found that I enjoy history and writing just as much if not more. Building relationships with kids and adults to share my passion for these subjects is the driving purpose in my life.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern Adventist University. I also hold teaching endorsements in not only music, but secondary History/social studies and language arts.

The key to beginning any task is establishing the end goal. Are you working on strengthening your writing and grammar, or are you trying to get your grades up? Maybe it's a mix of both. Once we know the end goal, we can set up steps.
All types! Musically, mosty beginners and intermediate students. I taught American History and Government in the classroom setting for two years, and I helped my friends in college and high school with their writing assignments. All types of students are welcome!
Find someone that makes you comfortable. They need to be a teacher that can optimistically help you reach your goal. It's not always easy. In fact, it's usually not on the first, second, or even third day of your sessions. You need to find a teacher that can visualize your end results and pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, find a teacher that you can trust to help you with your goals.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What am I trying to accomplish?
Do I know my weaknesses when it comes to this subject?
Do I know my strengths when it comes to this subject?
How often will I need tutoring?
Can I sit for thirty minutes to an hour and focus on accomplishing my goals?
