About Ms

Education is the foundation that enables young people to imagine and build a positive future -- both for themselves, and for our world. I believe in investing deeply in young people, and am committed to helping my students achieve goals bigger than they could have imagined. Every student is capable of growth, and it is my passion to provide the support they need to achieve goals that may seem outside their reach.

After recieving my BA from Harvard University, I returned to the Harvard Graduate School of Education to earn a Masters of Education. From there, I was fortunate to teach 9-12th grade, teaching subjects including: US History, Global History, Government, Economics, English, Wilderness, and Health and Sexuality. These subjects empower students with the knowledge of why the world is the way it is, and cultivates the skills they need to be successful & to create a better future.

I particularly enjoy working with students to develop their writing skills. Writing requires and develops some of the skills which are most vital for students to have, whatever their personal or professional goals may be. Students who work with me learn not to accept things at face value, to carefully consider evidence, to form beliefs based on a diversity of perspectives, and to communicate in a way that is accurate, clear, and compelling. We tackle the big picture skills that go in to being a thinking and a writer.....and the nitty gritty of spelling, grammar, citations, and the importance of attention to detail.

I love to work with a variety of students. Whether you are acing your classes and think, "why do I need a tutor?" or you are struggling and telling yourself, "I'll never be good at this" -- I want to work with you. You are capable of more than you know.

About the lesson

I have worked with students struggling to pass their high school classes, Ivy League students acing their courses, and everyone in between. Every student has different learning needs, different strengths, and different opportunities for growth. I look forward to helping you with yours.
