About Alex

I am an engineer with a passion for making complicated topics easy to understand. I have been tutoring in various forms for 11 years and would love to help you or your child understand your topic of choice.

I have experience in tutoring everything up until college calculus, including algebra, geometry, and statistics. I also love to work with English, whether it's spelling, writing, reading, or anything else.

My credentials: I have a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, have been published as an author, and have been teaching/tutoring for over a decade. I currently work in the tech industry.

I love being a part of that moment when something goes from mysterious to understandable. Regardless of the subject, I find it infinitely rewarding to enable someone else to reach that point of understanding.

I graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, have worked professionally as both a tutor and a mentor for first generation college students, and currently serve as a mentor for college students. I have been tutoring for over a decade.

About the lesson

Before I begin the tutoring process, I prefer to work with the student and their parents (if desired) to determine their goals. Next, I work with the student to determine how they best learn, and from there we can dive into the material.

I have worked with students ranging from elementary school to college aged adults, including special needs children.

My granddaughter was failing her math class when we started tutoring. She was able to bring her grade up enough to pass with a B. Couldn't be happier! She's thorough and came to every session with problems worked out in advance.

Alex worked with teaching my kids Algebra and Algebra 2. She was great at not only helping them understand their work but also grading afterwards and helping them fix their mistakes.
