I start off by building a nice rapport witht he student (anr their parent). It makes them feel more comfortable and it helps me get a better understanding of the needs of the student.
We discuss the ultimate goals the students would like to acheive.
I ask what the struggles are and it helps me to be better prepared for each tutoring session.
