About Tony

Hi Everyone! Welcome!! I’m Tony, your Academic English Tutor.

Would you like to really learn how to write award winning essays for school, college and university? You have come to right place!

My name is Tony and I am a qualified teacher with over 10 years English teaching with young adults and kids. Many of my students have gone on to graduate from top universities and have great careers. Whether English is your second language and you want to pass your IELTS, or just to improve your essay techniques, you have come to the right place! I can help.

If you are looking for lessons over the internet week-days, please contact me. I am available to teach online from 5:30pm to 10:30pm PDT, Sundays through Thursdays. Speak to you soon!

There is nothing quite like seeing someone I taught go on to succeed; to see my students pass all their exams and get into the university of their choice, get the promotion that they dreamed of; all thanks to the great academic writing skills I helped them acquire.

Good writing skills allow you to have a voice and be heard. They allow you to communicate in a way that people will listen and take notice of you. With the skills I will teach you, your examiners will appreciate the value and logic of your thinking and reward you for this. Good writing is critical to unlocking your future. This is true whether you are looking for that promotion, or whether you are learning English as a second language and need to make the grades for university. You have come to the right place to learn!

I have been a Christian educator for over ten years. I started teaching later in life at a major university in the UK, but then I realized that I could do more good helping kids that really needed me and who were struggling in their own countries. I am currently working charitably abroad in Thailand, helping children where I can have a radical impact on their career and opportunities.

I have taught students of many nationality in High School, as tutor in after-school classes, and also online with the American Academy, 51Talk. Online, my main focus has been academic writing, grammar and international exam preparation (IELTS, TOEIC, GCSE).

My Bachelor Degree major is in English, and my postgraduate university qualifications include a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Teaching (PGCE). I also have a TEFL from UniTEFL in Chiang Mai. In addition to my work as an educator, I have written and published textbooks, novels as well as numerous articles, both of academic and business interest.

I started teaching and while working as an academic at university. I quickly realized this was my vocation and went on to teach children abroad in deprived places.

About the lesson

I would assess the students needs and level in a thirty minutes free lesson and agree lesson times and content to suit their particular situation and goals.

- Native Speakers (UK, US): GCSE English, university students. Exam help.

- English as a Second Language: Speakers of Spanish, French, Italian, Thai, Chinese. Children 13-18 preparing university entrance language exams IELTS TOEIC. University Students writing thesis. Businessmen needing to communicate in Business English or pass qualifications.

Check the qualification and experience of the teacher. Make sure you can communicate correctly together and share the same priorities.
