Getting to know the student, create a working realationship. learn the areas the student needs help with. find methods that suit each individual student. lastly make the student as comfortable as possible and help them to have fun while learning.
I have worked with kids between 10 and 20 years. And a few private tutions with adults
They should not fear but be open to tell the tutor how best they want to be helped and what is comfortable for them.
