About Luke
I use a personalized, student to student approach to the drumset and musical development. No two students are the same and my lessons reflect that. My job is to foster enthusiam, then use simple excercises to form it into progress!
As cliche as it sound I love learning from my students! Through helping others realize their potential, I'm able to constantly sharpen my craft and better realize my potential!
I've been teaching almost as long as I've been performing professionally. I've tought private lessons, group lessons, percussion ensembles, and drumlines.
I've been playing professionally since I was 15 and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performace from the University of North Texas. I've played/toured with American Idol finalist Gina Glocksen, local bass legend Joe Pocastilaro, as well as my own original groups Spocket and Kamikazee Vigilante.

My first job is to learn what kind of music makes the student want to play. I'm not interested in making a student work on something they dont want to. I want to figure out what motivates them to play. Then I can develop exercises tailored to their specific needs!
My students range in age from 10-60.

Perfect! Luke’s knowledge of drum theory and different drum styles is deep, yet he has remained sensitive to my personal goals as a drummer to guide my lessons. Every drum exercise he assigns me has a clear application. Knowing the purpose of each exercise increases the productivity of my practice sessions. Luke has high standards for my drumming technique. Because of this, my skills have grown exponentially since we began working together. If you want a drum teacher who will meet you where you are and push you to meet your goals, I would recommend working with Luke.

My son has been taking lessons with Luke for just over a year now. I have taken music lessons throughout my entire life from many different teachers and Luke is by far the best teacher that I’ve encountered. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He breaks down the lessons in a way my son can understand and apply easily. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher!
Originally, I hired him to help my son learn drums. He was so talented and easy going that I started taking lessons from him. He’s helped us immensely! I’ve been around a lot of good drummers throughout my life, and Luke is a great drummer.
When I first started taking lessons with Luke I had been playing drums for about 10 years and had at least 5 teachers prior. Luke is easily one of the best I've had. His knowledge of drums and drum theory is deep, and he always provides a reason for why you should be practicing a certain a technique or learning a concept a certain way. It's obvious Luke is passionate about music and drums and taking lessons with him is really a no-brainer, especially for how little he charges! Luke is good for any level of student as well!
Luke emphasizes sound technique as fundamental to good drumming. This allowed me to get better quickly. I highly recommend Luke as a teacher. You will learn and get better faster in a fun atmosphere.
