About LEISA
Trutek Dance Co. is the midwest's premiere one of a kind dance academy and the only dance company that has both a school for training for kids and adults, as well as a professional adult performance company. Our premiere dance school is located in Avon, Ohio in a 7000 sq foot state of the art facility that has multiple classrooms, students lounges for studying between classes, our own in house theatre, professional top of the line sprung dance floors, full kitchen, air condition/heat, lots of natural light & more. Our dance school is the only dance school in Northeast Ohio that offers a college preparatory program with full transcripts upon graduation, portfolio with letters of recommendatin for college, video audition reel, professional headshots, college scholarship opportunities & more. We train students in both commercial dance & concert dance tracks including classical ballet, pointe, jazz, broadway jazz, tap,competitive ballroom & latin dance, contemporary, acrobatics & tricks, heels, hip hop, pom dance, dance for videos/film, master classes with current choreographers from Los Angeles & New York, Full summer dance intensives & more. We offer many performance opportunities in our youth dance company & competition dance teams. Unlike many competition studios in the Cleveland & Lorain area we teach you how to dance instead of teaching the same few dances throughout the year for competitions. Our highly educated teachers will develop you into a dancer that will stand out in auditions & on stage. Many of our graduates have received full scholarships to college & have been accepted into prestigious colleges. We have small class sizes so we can give you one on one attention. OUr dancers advance quickly as our dance educators teach a very high level of technique. We teach children starting at age 6 to college students & adults. You can be in our youth dance company or one of our competition teams or choose to do both. There is something for every dancer. There are no high costume fees for shows as we offer parents costume rentals & we do not mark up competition fees like most dance studios in the area. If you are a new dancer or want to take your dancing to the next level & gain more than just learning the same few dances all year for competitions or recitals, then we want you to join our dance family now. I love working with students of all ages. Dance is not just about becoming famous and booking dance jobs. Dance gives boys and girls, men and women confidence & young girls elegance. The skills learned in dance teaches people skills & team work that can be used in future careers in business, medicine, education and more. Dance can change lives, especially during the tough tween & teen years when they experience so many different things in school & are faced with so many challenges.Dance keeps kids active, healthy, confident, busy & out of trouble.
I have a bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Theatre/Dance from Baldwin Wallace University along with post gradute work in Education with a teaching certificate in secondary education grades 7-12. I also was casted on various fitness telebision shows for over 15 years on ESPN that utilized dance as a way to stay fit. Additionally I directed many summer dance & theatre programs at colleges on the East & West Coast.

Students come in to the academy with parents for a tour and official registration. The first week , they take a few placement classes so we can place them according to level and age.

Perfect! Everyone I have met is so nice, polite and patient with me! I love it there! Its Huge and so pretty, I really am learning alot and I love going. I'm so glad they reached out to me! I reccomend this place to any one who is Interested in any kind of dance because they teach it all!!! (I go for ballet)
