I try to gauge the student's understanding of the material so I know how in depth I need to go with each topic. I use a variety of teaching styles to determine which is most effective for each student
Chegg connects you with students around the world. I have tutored students with no experience and students whose primary language is not english
Look for someone who makes sure that you are understanding the content and doesn't move on until you do. Concepts tend to build on each other a lot in computer science
