About Rutherford
Currently the new Head Pitching Instructor at Champion Pt & Performance! Scott was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays out of Auburn University, where he graduated with a degree in Physical Health & Activity. He spent four seasons as a top prospect in the Tampa Bay before spending time in the San Francisco Giants and Toronto Blue Jays systems. During his time in those organizations, throwing in excess of 100 mph, Scott averaged better than 14 strikeouts per nine innings of work.
Over Scotts 14 year professional baseball career he held Atlantic League career marks for earned run average (2.23) and strikeouts per innings pitched (12.4) among pitchers with 200+ career innings in the circuit. He also accrued international experience, having pitched in Mexico, Venezuela and Australia during his 14-year career.
Scott completed an internship with Cressey Sports Performance where he learned to evaluate athletes through an assessment of body mechanics. He then developed programs off those assessments to coach athletes through the proper regimens and incorporate that information into pitching workouts.
Scott is passionate about giving athletes the opportunity to maximize their God given potential on the diamond. With the education, training and playing for most of his life, Scott is ready to pass his knowledge onto the next generation to better help athletes achieve their dreams and goals.

Perfect! He is amazing, kind, professional and a great coach. My son is learning a lot and is getting better. Highly recommend!
Perfect! Scott is really good with my son. My son is listening to what Scott is suggesting and its working well. We will be using Scott all winter for my son to be ready for the Spring. I would receive Scott.
Perfect! Professional and friendly. Made my son comfortable in the first lesson. My son is looking forward to continuing lessons with Scott.
Perfect! Scott was great with my 11u son. He's throwing it harder after just a couple of sessions. He's also working on things daily that have given him a real edge. Sad to see Scott leave the area or we'd still be with him.
Perfect! Scott did a great job giving my 11-yr old techniques to improve the accuracy and velocity of his pitches. He has a great demeanor with kids and explained things in a way that clicked with my son very quickly.
