The UCAT is a very technique-based exam and I focus lessons on each section of the UCAT, first going through technique and then going through practice questions.
** Verbal reasoning **
This is the section of the UCAT that most students find the most challenging, because it is so time-pressured. You have likely heard the technique 'read the question before reading the text', but I help you understand how to apply this in practice, including how to choose relevant keywords and identify key parts of the text, helping you to save precious seconds in an exam where strategic time-management is essential.
** Decision making **
There are several different types of question in the decision-making part of the UCAT exam, which each have different techniques. I can help you understand how best to approach each of these.
** Quantitative reasoning **
Data interpretation and the ability to effectively carry out calculations are essential in this section of the exam. Questions generally involve a level of comprehension and I can help you with this by going through examples and pointing out what to look out for. I can also help you improve your speed and accuracy in calculations, which is vital to score well in the exam.
** Situational judgement **
Situational judgement may seem like a less important section of the exam, but it is still one which will be looked at by medical schools, and is one which does respond well to practice. There are a common set of principles which we can go through which if applied, will help you score more highly in this section.

Emily really helped me prepare for my GCSE Physics mock. She was very patient and supportive and helped me understand concepts I previously struggled with.
Emily and I met at medical school where straight away I could see her talent for teaching. She has been invaluable in my own understanding of material with her being able to work on a step-wise approach. She is especially compassionate and can really relate to who ever she is giving advice to, making her perfect for medical applications or to those at a school level.
Emily is a close colleague of mine on the Graduate Entry Medicine course - she is an engaging, approachable and experienced tutor and I would recommend her highly for tailored medicine support!
I found Emily’s explanations of scientific concepts invaluable when doing my science gcse. She was very helpful when going through practice questions, helping me understand where I had gone wrong
