Austin loves to see when an actor really "gets" a scene or a moment right for the first time. The energy and passion of the actors he works with keeps him passionate to work another day.
I began teaching during my freshman year at the University of Michigan, when I would regularly go back to my high school and run workshops, transferring to them the skills I learned at University. This continued throughout my undergraduate career, and culminated in a thesis in coaching with ITS troupe 4260, as well as teaching 2 undergraduate classes in my senior year at U of M.

In the first session, We discuss your goals, how you like to work, and you will take an artist's performance survey so that I can better understand who you are, and how you like to work. From there, Austin will craft lesson plans for each session that will help you to build the skills and confidence needed to accomplish each goal on your list.
I have worked with High School Students, students in preperation for Scholarship and Drama School auditions, University students, London Drama School students, actors in training at a private studio, and professional actors.
Make sure they are concerned with finding a technique that works for you! Acting is a very personal art form, and too often actors find themselves with a teacher who wants things done their way, which creates difficulty and anxiety in the student-actor. Finding your own way of acting should be the most important thing.

Austin makes GREAT connections with everyone he works with, making it so much easier to learn and to grow.
He is insightful and It is obvious that he knows what he is doing. I'd recommend Austin to anyone wanting to further their ability and knowledge in a comfortable situation.Austin has an incredibly diverse background in multiple methods of training and coaching that compliment my demands perfectly. What's more, he's patient without being a doormat, stern without being aggressive, and all around an immense pleasure to work with. Without a doubt, my confidence in my performance ability has gone up since he began coaching me. I would recommend him to anyone who is serious about improving their acting skills.
