About Vania
Hi! My name is Vania, and I am an MIT graduate who has been tutoring since 2012. I've worked with high school students to help achieve score goals for the SAT, ACT, SAT II (Chem, Math I/II, Physics, Bio E/M), and AP (STEM courses) exams.
I enjoy helping students understand the inner workings of standardized exams. Each exam has content and problem solving strategies which can be taught. With proper guided practice/test taking tips, score improvements are achievable.
I got into tutoring test prep because a lot of my classmates didn't have resources available to them. What started as peer tutoring sparked my interest in understanding the "how" and "why" behind standardized exams.
I graduated from MIT and have been tutoring high school and college students since 2012. I have worked at educational startups in the Boston/Cambridge area, tutored both domestic and international students for the SAT/SAT II/ACT/AP exams, and worked as a tutor for standardized test prep companies.

Typically, I have a new student take a full length diagnostic exam. We then meet and discuss score goals, analyze the diagnostic exam, and plan out a study schedule (topics + practice exam schedule).
I have worked with high schoolers based in the US as well as international students preparing to apply to the US for boarding school, or college/university.
