About Samuel
I ensure that my students not only understand the material, but they understand the core concepts to every problem. Too frequently are students taught mundane, procedural methods. My students always have a complete grasp on the problem and the most efficient approach.
There is nothing more fulfiling to me than helping a student reach their goal. I will work hard to ensure each and every student I teach has the confidence they need to succeed!
I have studied Education at the University of Maryland, College Park for three years now. Taking courses on educational psychology, effective teaching practices, and student inquiry learning. These courses enabled me to effectively tutor for the College of Mathematics, as well as perform as a Teaching Assistant. I plan to be a math teacher immediately following Graduate School, and I look forward to learning more about effective teaching with the students I tutor.

I always gauge my student's level of understanding first. This ensures they understand every word I am saying, and allows me to explain more complex concepts. I work through the problem with the student, letting them do most of the discovery on their own, making sure they stay on the right path and clearing up any confusion.
I have worked mostly with students in the 15-20 age range, with my focus on secondary education.
