About Eliot

I write guitar melodies for Hip-Hop and Pop musicians. My most notable song I played the guitar on has over 20 million youtube views and 30 million plays on Spotify. I have been performing for various events and concerts for over 10 years and have taught students ranging in ability from beginner to professional. My versatility, experience and formal training helps me to make the learning experience easy, stress free and fun.

Currently, I perform about once a month for paid gigs at UCLA through the department of World and cultures. I play in a group with a cellist, stand-up bassist, and spoken word artist. My largest audience was at freshman orientation (over 8,000 people). I have built relationships with Hip-Hop producers and write guitar melodies which ultimately get placed with well-known artists such as Talib Kweli, Aloe Blacc, and NBA Youngboy.

I have various management deals on the table and I will continue to release music consistently until I have found the right one. I've always felt that teaching is an important job as a musician and love to help others get maximum enjoyment out of playing the guitar.

I specialize in Spanish guitar styles and fingerpicking, but I also feel completely comfortable teaching and performing in other genres such as: Jazz, Folk, R&B, Blues, Classical, Fingerstyle, and Rock.

One of my artists students saw me playing and wanted to learn.  I thereby began teaching him how to read music, chord shapes, etc.



I have been performing on guitar for over 10 years.  I have performed on Spanish Guitar at various Persian events and World Culture events at UCLA.  I have also taught lessons at UCLA for 2 years.

First I find out there skill level and whether they can read music/guitar tabs.  If they do not yet have the basics such as strumming, basic knowledge of guitar, basic knowledge of music theory, at least 5 chords shapes, then I will teach them that first.  After the basics, I will ask them what they want to learn and help them achieve their personal goals.  Hopefully by the end of the session we can have some type of jam or be able to play together since that is usually one of the most fun ways to improve!



Ranges from brand new to the guitar all the way to experienced musicians who know how to improvise and know countless scales on the neck.
