About Woody
My name is Woody. I graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College with a degree in English in 2021. Since then, I have worked as a tutor and teacher for a wide range of ages. I taught a class of fifth graders, tutored high school students for standardized tests, and helped adult college students with their writing. I enjoy working one-on-one with motivated students to help them reach their goals.
I am excited to work with English language learners because English is a language that opens up many doors. As a teenager, I attended an English-speaking international high school (UWC Adriatic). I saw firsthand how English afforded people academic and career opportunities. Because they mastered English as a foreign language, many of my friends have gone on to attend internationally renowned universities. They have better access to financial opportunities in the English-speaking world.
I enjoy getting to know students in my sessions. I am friendly and supportive and give students the space to practice and make mistakes. My sessions provide judgment-free zone to build confidence in speaking English.

I have over a year of experience tutoring and have completed TEFL certification. I can offer:
-individualized sessions to reach your personal goals

-thirty minutes to an hour
-virtually conducted over zoom
