About Brian
I have taught 11-18 students for more than 30 years. I have taught at all levels including the Special papers for Oxbridge entrance. I have also taught a full ability range of students as well as working with students who have disabilities such as sight and hearing and communication difficulties.

I specialise in advising on how students can get from a B/C to an A in order to apply to top University courses.
It is hard work for both of us but I am able to support and motivate students.
I am also very familiar with the questions that students have not asked and are often too nervous to ask in class for fear of appearing stupid. Most students in every maths class think the same.
Typically, I direct students to on-line resources that fill gaps, use online illustrations to enhance understanding. I have even published E-books of worked examples at A-level standard that I can direct students to.
I offer a nice environment to learn in and students benefit from the peace and quite of being away from distractions.
To achieve good grades, I can drill down to individual issues and identify the precise illustrations and examples needed to help students piece together the concepts they need.

Perfect! Brian’s experience is shown through his lessons where he takes his time explaining concepts and techniques to my daughter. She required someone with experience of exams and exam techniques and Brian fills that criteria 100%. Working with Brian will hopefully get my daughter to the grade she needs.
Perfect! Brian is a very knowledgable tutor who can share his perspective from his experience as an examiner on how to best prepare for the exams, and how to answer the questions for maximum points. Brian has high standards and expectations while also being a very encouraging and patient tutor, taking the time to provide detailled explanations. He supported my son through a stressful year and we saw a clear improvement in our son’s results.

Brian have been tutoring my daughters for about a year now and I can confidently say that he is a brilliant tutor. Brian makes "A" Level maths interesting and enjoyable for my daughter who was struggling with her confidence after disappointing first year results. He uses his vast experience to help his students overcome areas of difficulty and makes the learning experience enjoyable. Furthermore, I only wish I had his contact details at the start of my daughter's first year of her maths course.

I charge £40 an hour for A-level and £30 for GCSE. I do not travel as travel costs would make the lessons unaffordable.
