About Stephen
I've used Maths, Physics and Chemistry through out my career. I read Chemical Engineering at Cambridge and then did a PhD at Imperial College London where I developed a new algorithm for scheduling using mathematical optimisation. I have worked as an engineer in industry in the USA and the UK and since 2005 I have worked in UK universities. I have spent most of the time since then teaching maths to first and second year engineers and also doing some tutoring for school students.

Lessons are 1-2 hours long. I have 15 years teaching experience and I like to make the lessons fun. I focus on small steps to increase confidence and this strategy nearly always leads to good results in examinations. We will work with your school textbook and other teaching materials.
