About Richard
I have a First Class (Hons) in Computing and Information Systems and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Applied ICT.
I also have over 10 Years experience working in the IT industry, applying my skills to Software, Networks and Cyber Security Solutions.
In my spare time I have also written multiple books and comics, and I develop video games with a team of developers and artists.
My knowledge and experience covers an extremely broad amount of topics and I love to teach and share what I can with people who are looking to build success through learning.
I am able to translate complex concepts in ways that my pupils will understand and remember. I have a wide range of teaching resources available and can tailor my materials to your individual needs.
Alongside ICT and Computing I have extensive experience in Business Studies, History, Robotics and Creative Media.
I have worked closely with Neurodivergent learners, including my own children, so I can also accommodate SEN needs and create a learning environment that engages focus better than traditional materials might.

My approach to teaching is flexible and dynamic to suit your needs and experience level.
I am experienced in teaching ages 11 to 19 in a school environment and 19+ in industry.
I would aim for a typical lesson to be for one hour at a time, but I can be flexible on this.
I would begin by understanding your needs and desired outcome, then put together a plan to reach where you need to be.
I am currently available at any time and can be flexible around your needs.

Details
In our initial lesson we will discuss your needs further, understanding where you are currently in terms of your knowledge and experience in IT.
From there, we will set some expectations moving forward, including any reading or work that you can do between sessions to help you learn and what I will do to prepare for the next lessons to ensure that you are receiving as much opportunity to learn as possible.
