About Selina
I’ve always had a strong interest in maths and problem-solving, which led me to study it in depth and eventually work as a data analyst/statistician. In my current role, I regularly use mathematical and statistical methods to solve real-world problems, which has given me a much deeper understanding of how these topics are applied beyond the classroom.
Alongside my professional work, I enjoy explaining concepts in a clear and simple way, especially when they initially feel difficult or abstract. I know from experience that maths can feel intimidating if something doesn’t click straight away, so I focus on breaking topics down into manageable steps and building understanding gradually.
I’m a patient and approachable tutor, and I try to create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking time to fully understand a topic. My goal is always to build confidence as well as ability, so students feel more in control when approaching exams or coursework.

I focus on making maths and statistics clear and straightforward, with a personal approach tailored to how each student learns best. Sessions are structured but flexible: we break topics down properly, work through examples together, and then build confidence through practice questions so students can apply methods independently.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but can be adjusted if needed.
I have a strong background in maths and statistics through both academic study and my work as a data analyst/statistician, where I use these methods regularly in practice. This helps me teach concepts in a practical, applied way rather than just theoretically.
I teach GCSE and A-Level Maths and Statistics, as well as university-level statistics and data analysis. I work with students who want to improve grades, prepare for exams, or strengthen understanding of more advanced statistical topics.
