About Esme
I am a singing tutor with 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Voice Emphasis. I am dedicated to helping students build strong vocal foundations, particularly those preparing for vocal exams, diplomas, and conservatory auditions. My teaching spans genres including Classical, Opera, Art Song, and Contemporary Vocal, allowing students to explore diverse repertoire with technical precision. I focus on structured approaches to tone placement and resonance control, ensuring that every note is produced with clarity and ease. IPA diction training is central to my lessons, helping singers articulate text accurately and expressively. Phrasing and musical interpretation are also key elements, enabling students to communicate the emotion and story behind each piece. Lessons are designed to balance technical exercises with repertoire work, providing practical tools for performance readiness. I tailor instruction to each student’s voice type, learning pace, and performance goals. Emphasis is placed on breath support, vocal flexibility, and stylistic authenticity. My teaching approach to singing combines technical skill with creative expression. I focus on helping students develop strong harmony singing, so they can blend beautifully with others while maintaining their unique voice. Microphone technique is another key area, teaching control, placement, and projection for live or recorded performance. I guide learners in vocal improvisation, encouraging exploration and confidence in creating their own lines and riffs. Pop and R&B stylization is an important part of my lessons, helping singers master phrasing, runs, and expressive nuances in contemporary styles. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, strengths, and goals, providing both challenge and support. I work closely with learners to build confidence, accuracy, and musicality, ensuring progress feels steady and achievable. Exercises include ear training, rhythm practice, and style-specific drills. I also help students navigate performance scenarios, from solo practice to group settings, fostering poise and presence. My aim is to create a supportive, fun, and inspiring environment where singers can grow technically and creatively. Every lesson encourages experimentation while building solid technique. Above all, I help students feel confident in their voice and enjoy singing fully.
