About Chris
My name is Chris and I have been a teacher for 15 years. I love my subject and feel that anyone can achieve well in English if given the right help. I make my lessons fun and am able to identify where help is needed and deliver that help. My lessons are a two way street where I will get you to engage in the learning through questioning and discussion, I can make Shakespeare seem real and show you how Dickens can speak to all of us. I love sport and music and am passionate about learning.

Using step by step guidance I can make the Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level English assessment processes clear and manageable for students of all secondary ages and abilities. I use discussion and coaching methods to get students to engage with literature texts and develop their own critical thinking. I also have a proven track record of getting students to improve their writing and literacy skills to make them into effective and articulate writers and communicators. I have 15 years of experience in secondary schools and regularly achieve strong outcomes for my students. I have a BA in English with Media Studies and a PGCE in Secondary English Teaching. I have also received a foundation qualification in educational coaching. My lessons are for secondary students (Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level) who want to achieve well in English, Literature and Language courses. I can cater for all abilities and develop programmes for students to achieve. My programme consists of 1 hour sessions whereby I can break down the requirements of the subject, develop the skills needed and build confidence in my students through fun and accessible activities. I use current exam board specifications to cater my teaching for groups and 1:1 students.
