About Emma
I am an experienced recruitment scribe with over four years experience contracting to the Australian Government. I have worked with numerous departments across Australia, and have experience at almost every stage of the recruitment process. I have participated in interviews for Australian Public Service (APS) level roles ranging from APS4 to EL2.
My role as a scribe has been to take notes and write reports based on the outcomes of interviews. I have spent the last four years in interviews watching candidates interview for positions, and I have seen almost everything you could do well, or poorly, in an interview. I understand what panels are looking for, what questions they will ask and what answers they want to hear.
My teaching is designed to improve your interview techniques, as well as giving you tailored preparation for your next job interview. My goal as a teacher is to give you the skills to confidently and preparedly approach any interview, and to build skills at every stage of the application process.

Hello, my name is Emma and I am an experienced recruitment Scribe with over four years experience in interviews and recruitment. I have worked with numerous government departments on interview recruitment, and have participated in hundreds of interviews as part of my work. I have experience in the application process from assessing written applications, to interviewing candidates, to obtaining referee reports. As such I have comprehensive experience in the process and how to navigate it well at every stage.
I provide general interview techniques, how to prepare and what questions to expect, as well as specialised Australian Public Service (APS) application preparation. The focus of the lesson will depend on your specific needs, but I try to provide a wholistic preparation for the process.
As a general guide, I try to cover the following topics over the course of my lessons:
- Interviewing dos and don'ts
- What to expect in the interview process
- Interview techniques
- Common interview questions
- A mock interview
- Writing a good written application
- Writing a good CV
If you would like a specific focus, or specialised interview training I am always happy to accommodate if I can.
I cater my teaching content and style to each student, and adapt my focus accordingly. I understand that every student requires a different approach and will want different outcomes, and I generally use the first lesson to understand these and prepare a plan for future lessons. I teach visually and verbally, and where possible I try to provide answers in a format which suit the individual.
I typically provide 1 hour lessons with the option of a 2 hour lesson. Covering all topics listed above will require more than an hour's lesson, as such I usually recommend 2-4 hours of lessons total to complete the preparation depending on individual needs.
