About Maurice
Sometimes the hardest part of playing is simply deciding where to place your fingers. I have taught 89 students over 10 years and I still find the process of learning piano endlessly fascinating.
My approach relies on building hand independence through contemporary styles and classical repertoire. You deserve to play music that you actually care about right now.
I provide 8.0 level support by creating custom sheet music arrangements for songs you choose. We will look at chord voicing and ear training as essential parts of your daily practice.
I focus on helping you memorize pieces so you can perform them without stress. My background includes a Certificate in Music Production which helps me explain how theory works in a modern context. You will develop a deep connection to your instrument through consistent and meaningful practice. I help you gain technical mastery by applying music theory to the pop songs you want to play. My 10 years of experience have shown me that students learn faster when they enjoy the music they produce. You will master hand independence.
We will utilize your 8.0 interest in specific songs to guide our sessions. My Certificate in Music Production from Berklee Online allows me to teach you how to hear your own playing with a critical ear.
