About Therese
I have been a Licensed Educator for 32 years, a Licensed Board Certified Cytotechnologist for 36 years, and an Adult Vocational Medical Instructor/Tutor for the last 12 years. I have a vast knowledge in the medical field and am very good at working with diverse populations of students. I love teaching science and medicine and I try to instill my enthusiasm for it to my students. Learning can be fun and I know how to prove it in the classroom or online with my unique teaching styles. I have worked as an Educator & Scientist both at the Secondary Education level and the Adult education Vocational level. I can easily connect to any student and I am very good at reaching students who are ready to give up and turn them around into feeling successful again. My students love me and I know I make a difference in their lives.

My teaching approach is to get to know my students and where their knowledge level of the subject lies, so I know how to best instruct them. I believe no two students learn the same way, so an instructor needs to be able to provide as many teaching techniques as needed to reach everyone. I use what I call the "Senses Technique." I use our senses by stimulating our visual, auditory, olfactory, and especially tactile or hands-on approach. Any student can read from the textbook, but most can't learn nor understand what they are reading. I demonstrate every concept, so that my students understand it and don't just memorize it. They have fun, they learn, and they retain the material they need. Every student can learn and I make it my challenge to help everyone realize they have that potential. Failure is not an option!

Details
My rate of $45/hr. will be the same for any age student. If I am required to travel more than 20 miles I require mileage compensation. If a student cancels a scheduled session they will be responsible for contacting me for a confirmation of their cancellation by phone, text, or email within a 24-hour window or they are responsible for paying the entire price of the scheduled session.
